Full-Service Packing & Materials

Don’t have it in you to box up the whole place? Let New Chapter Moving Company pack it. Our own crew comes to your Bridgeport home with the materials in the truck, wraps everything properly, and then loads and moves it — one company, one team, start to delivery. Packing labor is billed at $155/hr for two movers, and materials are quoted with the job.

What we bring to pack a typical home

For a two- to three-bedroom Fairfield County house, a full pack usually runs through roughly:

  • 40–60 small book boxes for the heavy stuff (books, dishes, canned goods)
  • 25–35 medium boxes for kitchenware, lamps, and pantry items
  • 15–20 large boxes for linens, pillows, and lampshades
  • 6–10 dish-pack/cell kits for stemware and china
  • 8–12 wardrobe boxes so hanging clothes stay on the hanger
  • Several rolls of packing paper, bubble, and tape, plus mattress and TV cartons

Glassware gets paper-wrapped and double-boxed, mirrors and art go in flat cartons, and every box gets labeled by room. On a winter move we add shrink-wrap so the slush and road salt off I-95 never touches your soft goods.

A pro pack also moves faster on the day and packs tighter in the truck, which matters if your run goes down the corridor to NYC or Philadelphia. We pack to fill, so boxes aren’t half-empty and rattling around on the Merritt Parkway curves. If you’d rather we only handle the breakables and the kitchen, that’s a partial pack and we bring just those materials. A $150 deposit locks the date and comes off your total, and you can add full-value protection on top of the included $0.60/lb released-value coverage.

What Bridgeport Clients Report Back

★★★★★

“Downsized my dad out of his Black Rock place near the harbor and into assisted living. It's an emotional thing and the crew handled it with real care. They were gentle with him and just as gentle with his old furniture. They took apart his recliner so it would fit through the narrow door of the new room and put it right back together inside. Nobody rushed a man who needed to go slow that day. When he got confused about which boxes were which, the lead just walked him through it calmly. They treated him like family, plain and simple. And the flat quote held even though we added two extra boxes at the door.”

“Fairfield to Boston, roughly 150 miles up I-95 and across to the Pike. Same two guys both ends, binding quote, and they texted me their ETA the whole drive. Couldn't ask for cleaner.”

“Good movers and a fair flat rate. One small nick on a dresser corner, but the lead pointed it out himself before I even noticed and the office knocked a little off without me having to argue. That kind of honesty matters to me.”

Service FAQ

Can you pack just the kitchen and leave the rest to me?
Absolutely. A partial pack — kitchen, garage, or just the breakables — is common. We bill the labor hourly and bring only the materials those rooms need.
Roughly how many boxes does a 3-bedroom take?
Figure somewhere around 90 to 120 boxes of mixed sizes plus a handful of dish-packs and wardrobes. We bring extra so we never stall mid-room.
Do you unpack at the new place too?
We can. Many customers have us unpack the kitchen and bedrooms and place the furniture, then handle the rest themselves. It's the same hourly rate.
What happens to all the empty boxes after?
We can haul away the flattened cartons and paper on a follow-up trip, or you can keep them. Just let the crew know on move day.
