We do our part with our own crew and trucks; you do yours by being ready and telling us the truth about the job. If something we are carrying gets damaged, we cover it up to the coverage you chose. Cancel at least 48 hours out and your deposit rolls to a new date.
Terms of Service
These terms apply when you book a move with New Chapter Moving Company, 1000 Lafayette Blvd, Suite 1100, Bridgeport, CT 06604. By reserving a date with us, you agree to what is below.
Quotes and deposits
We provide flat-rate quotes in writing based on the home size, inventory, access, and distance you describe to us. A $150 deposit reserves your date and applies to your final balance. If the actual job differs from what you told us — extra rooms, added stops, or items not disclosed — the price may be adjusted, and we will tell you before we proceed.
What we do
New Chapter performs your move with our own employees and our own trucks. We are licensed through CTDOT with a Connecticut Household-Goods Carrier Certificate and carry US DOT and MC authority for interstate moves. We do not subcontract your job to another company.
Your part
You agree to give us accurate information, to have items ready to load at the agreed time unless you booked packing, and to make sure the addresses are accessible for our crew and truck. You also agree not to ask us to transport hazardous, perishable, or illegal items.
Liability and coverage
Standard released-value protection covers your goods at $0.60 per pound, and full-value protection is available for an added charge. Claims must be reported to us promptly after delivery. We are not responsible for items you pack yourself unless the damage was clearly caused by our handling.
Cancellations and payment
Cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours before your date and your deposit transfers to a new date. Payment is due on completion unless we agree otherwise in writing. Questions about these terms can go to [email protected] or (888) 711-4778.
