House-to-House Residential Moving

Moving a home is different from moving an office, and New Chapter Moving Company treats it that way. We’ve packed and carried houses across Bridgeport and the surrounding towns since 2015: Fairfield colonials, Stratford ranches, North End two-families. Our own crews show up uniformed, the trucks come stocked, and Marisol runs dispatch so the same people you talk to are the people who do the work.

We move you room by room, not in a scramble

Instead of throwing everything into a pile, our movers clear one room at a time and keep each room’s boxes together. The kitchen stays with the kitchen, the kids’ room stays with the kids’ room. Pads go on the dressers and headboards, mirrors and TVs get cornered and wrapped, and we label as we go so unloading at the new address drops every box where it belongs. For a salt-air shoreline home near Seaside Park we add an extra layer of shrink-wrap so winter slush off I-95 never reaches the upholstery.

That room-by-room habit pays off most at the new house. When the boxes for one bedroom all arrive together and labeled, you unpack a room and live in it the same night instead of digging through a mountain of mixed cartons. Our movers also set the big furniture first (beds, dressers, the dining table) so the rooms take shape before the boxes pile in. It’s a small thing that makes the first week in a new Fairfield County home feel a lot less chaotic.

Pricing is straightforward. Hourly runs $155/hr for two movers or $215/hr for three. If you’d rather lock a number, a one-bedroom flats at $640–$960, a two-bedroom at $1,080–$1,620, a three-bedroom at $1,820–$2,680, and a four-bedroom house at $2,600–$3,850. A $150 deposit reserves the date and applies to your balance.

What Bridgeport Clients Report Back

★★★★★

“Walk-up in the Hollow, third floor, and not one complaint from the guys. Fast and respectful.”

“Solid crew and fair price. They ran about 40 minutes behind because of a jam on I-95 by the bridge, but they called ahead to let me know and still wrapped the whole house the same day. Would use them again.”

“Salt air off the Sound had warped one of my closet doors and the lead mover just took it off, wrapped it, and rehung it at the new place. Little things like that. The estimate I got over the phone is what I paid, period.”

Service FAQ

Do you take apart furniture or do I need to?
We handle it. Bed frames, table legs, and modular shelving come apart at pickup and go back together at the new house, with the hardware bagged and taped to the piece.
Can you move just a few heavy items, not the whole house?
Sure. Plenty of Bridgeport jobs are a sectional, an armoire, and a fridge. We bill those hourly with no equipment minimum.
What about my plants, fridge, and washer?
Appliances move fine once they're disconnected and drained ahead of time. Live plants ride safest in your own car, but if it's a short local hop we'll pad and carry them.
Is the crew insured if something gets dinged?
Yes. Released-value coverage at $0.60/lb is included, and you can add full-value protection. We're fully licensed with a Connecticut DOT household-goods certificate.
